About the Position

Altus Power is seeking a qualified Field Inspection Engineer to join its Diligence & Remediation Team. The Diligence and Remediation team is responsible for evaluating solar sites under operation and making assessments for purchase, providing punch-lists and remediation recommendations, and completing remediation.  

This individual will be responsible for supporting design review, production review, site inspections and directing our engineering and inspection partners.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in design, installation, and maintenance.  We are looking for a creative inspector with an eye for quality.  Be a part of this small team of solar professionals.

Responsibilities

• Review design of operating systems

• Conduct data analysis and troubleshoot potential or existing issues;

• Proficient in reading and understanding low voltage, medium voltage plans, wiring and control diagrams, specification, and data sheets

• Capable of thermal imaging testing and analysis, insulation resistance testing and the completion of commissioning reports

• Ability to read and understand PV production models such as PVSYST or Helioscope.

• Conduct site audits to collect structural, electrical, equipment and installation evaluations on PV and storage systems.

• Conduct data analysis and troubleshoot potential or existing issues

Requirements:

• Proficient in reading and understanding civil, structural, low voltage and medium voltage plans

• Familiar with central and string inverters, DAS, and communication systems

• Strong attention to detail

• Effective communicator

• Clean driving record

• Knowledge of DAS and communications networks

• High level of initiative and works well in a cross functional team environment

• Field experience in quality, construction or operation

• Strong communication skills – verbal and written

• Familiarity with electrical systems and basic safety systems preferred

• Current in all safety and technical training

• Proficient in Microsoft office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint

• Ability to effectively use project management tools including MS Teams, Smartsheet, Procore, Monday.com

• Willingness to travel up to 25% for commissioning and troubleshooting assistance

• Strong attention to detail

• Clean driving record

• Prefer Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
